Reporting Groups and Codes

Reporting Groups allow users of Promo to apply a custom categorization to data objects or actions against data objects.

Reporting Group codes are provided with data objects when retrieved from the Promo API services, and are presented in the Promo Portal lists to facilitate filtering, grouping and sorting.

Each reporting group has codes defined which can be selected when creating or modifying an associated data object, or when performing an action against the data object. Codes for reporting groups are managed under Configuration.

Reporting Groups are available to:

Field	Description
Promotion	Each promotion can have a reporting group code selected. Reporting group codes are included with the details for applied promotions returned in basket validations.
Promotion (when missed)	Each promotion can have a reporting group code selected for use when the promotion is reported as missed. Reporting group codes are included with the details for missed promotion returned in basket validations.
Coupon	Each coupon can have a reporting group code applied. Reporting group codes are included when coupons and codes belonging to the coupon are extracted from the Promo API.
Loyalty Account/Contact Block Action	Available when blocking a Loyalty Account or Contact. Dependant upon the Promo Loyalty Module (see Modules for more information).
Loyalty Account/Contact Unblock Action	Available when unblocking a Loyalty Account or Contact. Dependant upon the Promo Loyalty Module (see Modules for more information).
Gift Card Group	Each gift card group can have a reporting group code selected. Dependant upon the Promo Gift Cards Module (see Modules for more information).
Gift Card Withdrawal Action	Available when withdrawing a Gift Card number. Dependant upon the Promo Gift Cards Module (see Modules for more information). The setting Require reporting code for withdrawals controls whether a reporting code is required when completing gift card withdrawal actions.
Gift Card Adjustment Action	Available when adjusting the balance of a Gift Card number. Dependant upon the Promo Gift Cards Module (see Modules for more information). The setting Require reporting code for balance adjustments controls whether a reporting code is required when completing gift card adjustment actions.
Gift Card Redemption Action	Available when redeeming a balance for a Gift Card number. Dependant upon the Promo Gift Cards Module (see Modules for more information). The setting Require reporting code for redemptions controls whether a reporting code is required when completing gift card redemption actions.
