Basket Level Promotions

Description
|
Basket Level promotions discount all products in the basket.
The total discount value is apportioned across the product lines in the basket, and those apportioned discounts are flagged so that they can be excluded when presenting discounts to the customer, but included in reporting as required.

Targets
|
All products in the basket. Does not discount lines in the basket which are flagged as a delivery charge or gift card.

Best Deal Rules
|
Only one Basket Level promotion can be applied to a basket - where the Promo engine establishes which promotion to be applied based on the setting Engine provides best/worst value and the conflict resolution configuration.

Delivery Level Promotions
|
Description
|
Delivery Level promotions discount lines in the basket which are flagged as delivery lines.
Where the basket has a delivery charge defined this will be converted to a new generated line in the basket during processing, automatically flagged as a delivery line. Where the generated line is not discounted it will be removed automatically. Where a discount is applied to the generated line, it will be persisted in the basket validation response.

|
Line Level promotions discount selected lines in the basket, based on the promotion type and configuration.

|
Selected lines based on the promotion type and configuration.

Best Deal Rules
|
Each product in the basket may only be discounted by one line level promotion - however multiple line level promotions may be applied to a basket where they do not overlap.

Non-Value Level Promotions
|
Description
|
Non-Value Level promotions perform actions against the basket other than applying discounts. This includes issuing points and voucher codes to the basket response.

Targets
|
Adds products, points, voucher codes or attribute values to the basket.
|
|
Best Deal Rules
|
One promotion may be applied to a basket for each promotion type.
